Wired Data Collection Equipment Package
TechniCAL’s Complete package of WIRED data collection equipment for conducting Heat Penetration testing on Retorted foods & beverages in cans, pouches, glass jars, plastic cups/trays, and Recart pacakages. The package includes our industry standard CALSoft software, a CALPlex datalogger, a set of heat penetration wires (16), two sets needle thermocouples & receptacles (32), and the necessary tools & gaskets to conduct the test. Choose the length of needle thermocouples and the type of CALPlex.

Determining Thermocouple Length
The length of an Ecklund Needle Thermocouple depends on the size of the container you will be testing. For cans, plastic cups, and recart packages, the thermocouple should be sized to reach the middle of the container. For glass jars, the thermocouple should be sized so the tip is at the cold spot of the container.
Package Includes
CALSoft Software: (1 copy) Industry leading software for collecting and evaluating heat penetration data using General Method or Ball Formula.
CALPlex datalogger (1) datalogger interface between CALSoft softare and heat penetration wires.

Heat Penetration Lead Wire Set: lead wires for connecting thermocoupled containers to CALPlex datalogger. One set of wires included: 16 wires x 40 feet long. Set includes 14 heat penetration wires + 2 Free Lead wires.
Needle Thermocouples: Small needle thermoouples & receptacles for installation into test containers. ** choose length (see below). One pack = 32 thermocuoples sized for 1 container size.
Packing Gland – Wire Installation Flange : Flange installs on retort to allow for wire installation.
Gasekets & Tool Kit: Special gaskets for thermouples (1 bag of 100) and receptacles (1 bag of 100). Can punch (1), thermocouple spanner wrench (1), and wrench (1) for installing receptcles & thermocouples in container.
Standard or Rotary CALPlex?
Used to conduct testing on STATIC retorts (non agitation). Connect up to 32 thermocouple wires into the CALPlex. A USB cable connects CALPlex to a computer with CALSoft software installed.
Rotary CALPlex is used on rotatational retorts. The unit installs on the back of the retort and can accept up to 32 thermocouple wires. A USB slipring allows the Rotary CALPlex to rotate with the retort during testing. A USB cable connects Rotary CALPlex to a computer with the CALSoft software insalled.
